The Putnam County Land Trust (PCLT) has
received its first corporate sponsor as a result of its direct
campaign to the local business
community. With its annual benefit dinner approaching, PCLT has been
working to broaden the reach of the organization. "PCLT cuurently
has many wonderful individuals who donate freely of their professional
services, however the organization has grown considerably in recent
years and has, correspondingly, seen an increasing need for financial
assistance. In addition, we feel that there are many businesses that
realize the need for environmental protection in Putnam County,” said
Hunter Pollock, President of the PCLT. “Judy Terlizzi put together
a great presentation and really took the lead in this effort.” Terlizzi
is the Vice President for the PCLT.
The first business to respond to the Land
Trust’s corporate
appeal was the law firm of William G. Sayegh, P.C., in Carmel. “We
have always believed in the Land Trust and I’m glad we were
the first to recognize and act on this opportunity,” said William
Sayegh,ESQ., the firm’s founder. “The need to preserve
open space in our County is critical,” he continued.

“We are sensitive to the future of our community and when
we look ahead in Putnam County, we see the rapid development and
congestion continuing to grow. It is a big concern for many people.
We felt we needed to take advantage of this opportunity to assist
the Land Trust,” added James Reitz, an associate at the firm. "Our
support for the land trust will be a continuing effort to benefit
the people of Putnam County." The Land Trust has been active
in the preservation and stewardship of open space throughout the
County.
The Land Trust has put together certain
criteria for corporations and sponsorship. “We felt that Sayegh Law was a good fit for
us,” said Pollock. The law firm of William G. Sayegh, P.C.
is an active benefactor in many community organizations.
“This is a very important first step for us,” said Terlizzi. “It
recognizes that local businesses also feel the need to preserve open
space.”
